My 15 Hour Nap

Yep.  I took a 15 hour nap last night.

I got home yesterday and took at nap at about maybe 4:30.  I figured I would take maybe a 1 or 2 hour nap.  After a nice little nap I was going to work on some music and just read and have a nice quiet relaxing evening.  Apparently I was REALLY tired because I ended up sleeping a WAY longer time than a 1, 2 or even 3 hour nap.

I went to sleep at 4:30 pm... and I woke up at around 7:30... AM.  At first I was like oh I slept a little longer than I planned... thinking I had slept from 4:30pm to 7:30PM... 3 hours... not bad.

Then I looked at my phone again and realized that it was AM.  WHOA... I slept THAT long!?  Wow.

I hate when the reverse happens though.  You know when you think you've slept longer than you really did? When I nap for a few hours and think I slept all night and I only have like 10 minutes to get ready for work.  Then I'll realize it was only a few hours.  In this case it WAS the whole night.  Luckily I don't have anything happening today and I can just relax.

I guess I must have been really, REALLY tired because I slept a total of 15 hours.  I stayed up pretty late thursday night from drinking 2 cups of coffee at the open mic and not being able to fall asleep and then I had to get up early to be at work for this software upgrade thing to one of the main systems that everyone uses.  I was then off work at 1pm and went for a good long run in the park across the street from the college.  It's my favorite place to run and the trails just rock.  I put on an audiobook and made my way through one of the many paths.  The reason why I like it so much is because every time I run I can take one of several different paths and so it takes sometime to repeat the same experience.  Keeps things interesting and refreshing.

My mom asked if we could meet for lunch after the run.  So I said ok.  We just went to the same place that we always go down the street from her house.  It's some bar pub place that isn't really anything special but they make a mean crab cake sandwich.  She always thinks the main area is too loud so she asks to sit in the back.  It's always fine by me as long as I get my crab cake sandwich.  Mmmmmmmmm.

I'm actually glad this time that we sat in the back because when we walked in some random dude that looked like he just stepped off a yacht or came from a golf tornament was staring at us or maybe me awkwardly... I kept looking around and every time I would look back to that direction he was staring right at me!  I thought I was going to be called out by him for a dance off or something.

YOU... dance floor NOW.  Let's see who's got the best skills!  I could probably have handled myself ok though in a dance off.

I guess maybe he could have just been looking at something going on outside the entrance behind me?  Although the dude and the other dude he was sitting with were positioned so that they saw everyone walking in the main entrance.  So maybe they were just sizing up everyone that walks in as potential dance off material?  Maybe a dance off did eventually happen and I missed it?

Still...

It was a lower level mildly creeeeeepy kinda of moment.  it was definitely one most awkward minute.  I was glad we were sitting in the back and not in the main seating area.  Although honestly, he was probably just staring in my direction listening to the guy next to him yapping in his ear and not staring at me at all.

I forgot all about the dance off dude once I was chowing down on my deliciousness of a sandwich. yum.

Then I took my mom back home and did a couple of chores around the house for her.  Drove back here to my place and passed out.

And that's how my 15 hour nap happened.  And a dance off did not.
