New song: “First Kiss”

Here it is!  I'm excited to post up my newest song.  My newest tune is a song about a moment.  A moment that happens when two people collide and you don't really even know what has happened until sparks are flying and the only word you can manage to conjure up in your mind is yes.  Yes, I could love you for a lifetime because you set me on fire.  That is what this song is about.

I thought of the concept for the song when I was in the car driving one day.  The idea was simply the scene of two people sharing their first kiss with each other.  I wrote the idea down as "First Kiss" which soon became the title of the song.  Then the ideas just kept flowing.  I eventually had a whole chorus and then a whole song.  After many hours spent at my computer with my microphone connected and my guitar in hand I finally have been able to yank from my mind and share with you a little slice of my imagination.

Enjoy.

Lyrics:

“First Kiss”

[INTRO] First kiss First kiss

[VERSE 1]
You was looking at me
I was looking at you
But, the whole long night not a word we spoke to Either of us ‘til the headrush, cheeks full of blush On the dance floor we shared our little crush

[PRE CHORUS]
Those lips
Those eyes
I don’t even have to try
I could love you for a lifetime Lifetime

Those lips
Those eyes
I don’t even have to try
I could love you after that (mmmm) First kiss

[CHORUS]
I could love you for a lifetime, for a lifetime After, after that, that (oh) first kiss
I could love you for a lifetime, for a lifetime After, after that, that (oh) first kiss

[BREAK]

[VERSE 2]
Well, I’ve been looking at you
You’ve been looking at me
For the rest of the night no one else will see This face, your hand, this cheek, your touch My heart skipped a beat and yours picked one up

[PRE CHORUS]
Those lips
Those eyes
I don’t even have to try
I could love you for a lifetime Lifetime

Those lips
Those eyes
I don’t even have to try
I could love you after that, that Fi-‐fi-‐first kiss

[CHORUS]
I could love you for a lifetime, for a lifetime After, after that, that (oh) first kiss
I could love you for a lifetime, for a lifetime After, after that, that (oh) first kiss

[SOLO]

[BRIDGE]
Let’s share this moment For the rest of our lives

Freeze frame that motion
When your lips touch mine
And if I could, I would go back
Erase every love from my past and wait patiently for you

[BREAKDOWN] First kiss First kiss

Those lips
Those eyes
I don’t even have to try
I could love you for a lifetime Lifetime

Those lips
Those eyes
I don’t even have to try
I could love you after that, that First kiss

[CHORUS]
I could love you for a lifetime, for a lifetime After, after that, that (oh) first kiss
I could love you for a lifetime, for a lifetime After, after that, that (oh) first kiss

[OUTRO]
I could love you for a life-‐life-‐lifetime Yea I could love you for a lifetime
Oh I could love you for a life-‐life-‐lifetime Yea I could love you for a lifetime Oh, oh
After that kiss
First kiss
First kiss

Order Cards

I came up with an idea tonight.

Ok, so maybe I come up with a lot of ideas; some of them are good and some of them are bad.  But, I will say that this idea is pretty good.  It's called "Order Cards."

Maybe it's an app on your phone, but I think 'pocket sized' cards would be cooler.  Basically they are little cards that are sort of like Mad Libs-esk.  They allow you to fill in things with a pen, or maybe erasable marker.  Maybe you only have one card and just fill in and then wipe clean after each ordering.  This is where having a phone app would come in handy (most people have phones and very few pens).

Let me back up.  I go to Barnes and Noble and Panera Bread fairly often with my laptop to work on things.  Generally when I order it's not like this:

Them -"What do you want?"

Me - "stuff."

Them - "ok great!  Your total is x dollars"

end transaction.

It's more like:

Them - "Do you want 15 other items besides the item you want?"

Me - "No thanks, I just want -"

Them - "Can we interest you in...

Me - "No no, I just want..."

Them - "For an extra x dollars we can upgrade you..."

Me - "Just the thing I really wanted."

Them - "Are you a member?"

Me - "A what?"

Them -  "A member?"

Me - "I don't remember?"

Them - "You are a member. ok..."

Me - "No I said I don't remember..."

Them - "Would you like to?"

Me - "I'd love to remember but I can't."

You get the idea.

Meanwhile, people behind me are getting antsy and tapping toes and checking mobile phones and checking wrist watches and checking out the butt of the cute person of the opposite sex outside the window walking down the street on the sidewalk in front of the store... etc.

I have a solution.  They are called 'Order Cards'.  You just find the order card for the place you are ordering from, you fill in the information in the blanks...I want this... No I don't want that... my name is this... I am not a member... I would not like to sign up to be a member at this time... I think you are cute and would like your number... Here's mine.

Etc. Etc.

The person at the cash register can simply read the information and proceed.  It would cut lines in half!  Maybe.  Hopefully.  So that's my idea that I thought of today. Perhaps I'll fill out a small piece of paper with the answers to the questions they ask and then just hold it up the next time I order a soup/sandwich at Panera Bread or a cup of coffee at Barnes and Noble.

I'll let ya know how it goes.  I highly doubt I'd put my number on the piece of paper, I'm much too shy for such advances.
